I'll write more in future when I ride the bike a longer time. First impression is very good. Comfortble, nice to handle taking into account the weight. It's a very heavy bike. Very stable on the road, great seat, big saddle bags. It feels and looks solid.
It's about 6 months and 3000 Km's later since I wrote the first lines about this bike, the Yamaha Royal Star 1300. It's my second bike, I changed this one for a Kawasaki vn 750. What a diferance. The comfort is really great. I bought a drivers backrest to make it even more comfortable I still have the original seat and it's good enough for me for this moment. All is feeling very stable and solid, just a very nice cruiser. I usuallly make day trips (150 / 200 km) or shorter rides and that's maybe not the best way to use this bike. It's made to make longer trips, not only to ride around in the city and village. It's no corner king, not only because of his weight, it's a very heavy bike. That's for me the biggest change, the way to handle this bike as I was used to ride the Kawasaki vn 750. The looks of the Royal Star are great, I get lots of compliments about the bike when I'm "on the road". I can sit on this bike much longer because of the great position. I want to change something about the sound of the bike, because there is nearly no sound to hear. I think a bit noise is good and more safe as we have lots of cyclists on the Dutch roads.
November now, so I ride this bike for over a year right on this moment and did about 10.000 km this year. The power is great, very stable on the road and the bike just fits! The bike is relatively easy to handle although it's a little heavy weight. When I saw this bike I wanted to have it, now I ride this bike I can only say I still feel very good I bought it!
