2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Nomad VN1600N Review: Truly a great motorcycle.

Motorcycle:
Year:
2008
Color:
Candy Fire Red/ Diablo Black
Review Summary:

I've had the new bike for 1 month now and have done about 1500 KM's, what a step up from the V-Star 650, they are a great bike but this is just better and different. When riding its amazing how the weight of the bike is barely noticable at times I feel as if I'm still on the 650 until I roll the throttle on, it's smooth and very comfortable. Others have commented on the comfort of the seat, I must say I find it extremely comfortable, no numb bum at all.

I have just installed some Scootworks 4" risers and that has made a big improvement for my comfort in the shoulders, seems that most add risers of some sort.

The weight at parking speed at first was a challenge but I'm getting used to it the more I ride.

I have removed the windscreen for summer riding as it's just too hot in the Queensland weather, I'll put it back on for winter and overnite rides because it does make it less fatiguing.

Best Features:
Comfort on long rides and the ease of acceleration at top speed it will just sit there all day long, need to get a cruise control fitted though.
Improvements:
I will fit an after market exhaust, Thunder mfg air kit and a commander pro PCIII which should address the slowness off the mark, it's not that bad but could be better.
Compares to:
I rode my mates Vulcan 1500 classic which is why I upgraded so I have him to thank. His bike is a lot quicker of the mark, 2 reasons for this, its lighter in weight at 300 kgs and he has removed that horrible looking resonator or cat whatever it is. Oh he has also debaffled the exhausts so it flows a lot better.
