2009 Yamaha Stratoliner Review: Classic Looks

Year:
2009
Color:
blue
Review Summary:

The first thing that caught my eye when I first saw the Stratoliner was it's classic styling. Reminded me so much of the bikes you saw in some of the classic "biker movies". Next thing I liked about the "Strato" is it had all the "Bling" most people put on thier stock bikes after they bought them, such as floorboards, removable/locking windshield, removable/locking passanger backrest, & those huge sweeping "boat-tail" style, locking leather hardbags. which by the way come off easily when it comes time to do a little clean-up. The "tank mounted" speedometer cluster looks "old style"; but incorperates digital readouts for time, 2 trip odometers, & readout of how many miles youv'e gone on reserve tank with just a flip of the handlebar mounted switch. The light display for oil, temp., battery, high Beam light, an low gas are all situated below the speedometer, which by the way has adjustable instrumentation dimmer.  It's almost like driving the family car. The seat is very confortable for stock & can't forget those wide sweeping oversized handlebars.will make you feel like "Marlon Brando "or "James Dean"; while cruising down the road. The only drawback I have is all the time I spend polishing all the "chrome", Yamaha is so well known for, on thier bikes!

Best Features:
Speedometer Instrumentation, smoth ride & the "Retro styling"
Improvements:
It's a hassel to change the gearbox oil (plug location). Good thng you only ever need to change a couple of times in the live of bike.
