I mounted a new seat recently, Saddlemen Exlplorer, without changing the sissybar, Cobra standard. This has caused an increased gap between the pillion and sissybar of about 1-2". Momma ain't happy, says her butt hangs off the back of the pillion when she can reach the sissybar. I am looking for a way to remedy this gap that doesn't look bad.
The only thing I can come up with would be some kind of spacer between the sissybar and the pad. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

You could make a new base for a sissy bar pad copying the current one for the top and adding the necessary extension. Take it to an upholstery shop and get it done to match your seat. I'd check with the upholsterer first to see what they estimate.

Success...with a scrap of 2 X 8 and some "rattle can" paint.
