Powdercoat Pipes?

Could not find black pipes inthe radius that I want to fit the 09 Midnight Warrior. Bought the Cobra Swept pipes and like the look, but hate the chrome. Anyone know if podercoating the heat shields will work? Will the powdercoat hold up to the heat over time?

I'd like a flat black look, and am not sure if powdercoating can be done in black.

And, what is the difference between ceramic coating and powdercoating? Can ceramic coating be put on after the pipes/heat shields have been chromed? Is there a reason to do one over the other?

And finally, anyone know a company on the Colorado Front Range that you would recommend to do this work?

Thanks in advance for your responses, you may save me some time and research with your knowledge.

I have had the exhaust system on my race car done in a ceramic coating, although the system wasn't chromed the company that did it had no trouble!

Can't help you with a firm closer to you though.

Hello from FRANCE

Its got to be possible as back in the 60's my rally car had its exhaust manifold sprayed red and that paint was good for 600° F and it lasted years, I think its down to the preparation work.

You're right there Tony, there is a High Temperature paint - available in spray cans out here (for the kiddies to sniff!!

It is all down to the preparation, if you use an etching primer on it should do the trick!!!
