Rust on Hub of wire wheels

Hello Folks,

I am removing rust from my "new" old bike ('97 Suzuki Intruder 800).

I have used Nevr Dull. It works wonders. I have cleaned most of the places where there was rust.

I have two questions:

1. I am trying to figure out how to reach effectively the hub of the wheel, surrounded as it is by dozens of criss-crossing spokes.

Has anyone successful experience cleaning such a difficult to reach place? I have tried brushes, but they seem a bit too large to cover the hub well.

2. Areas that are chromeplated that had rust I have cleaned successfully. However, there is a place that shows considerable pitting after the rust was removed: the horizontal area right below the handlebars and light that holds the front forks together. Can one touch up chrome or is it better to leave it as is and simply keep up with the cleaning so that the rust does not return?

I appreciate any suggestions.

cut a cloth 1.5" wide length long enough to get a grip on it, now take a length of neverdull and wrap it around the strip. this will make a neverdull emery cloth that you can thread through the spoke and pull back and forth to clean it. use some simple green for some lube. you may have to adjust the thickness.

Thank you!
