2002 Goldwing GL1800 2000-2010 GL1800A Review: Great touring bike

Motorcycle:
Year:
2002
Color:
Black
Review Summary:

I love my Goldwing, put over 95k miles on it.
I didn't really plan on buying a Wing, but fell in love with it when I was at Americade in 2002 and took at a test ride.
That year I had already ridden 18,000 miles on my Shadow Aero and came to realize that it's not the most comfortable bike for long cross country trips.
The smooth power, awesome handling, comfortable seat, full windshield, radio, large luggage capacity sold me. I purchased one the same week from a Honda dealer in New York who I had done business with before. The Aero shipped back home to CA and I continued my travels on the Wing. I rode another 18,000 that year on the Wing - now much more comfortable Smiley-wink

Most guys didn't get why I bought a Wing, they said it's a "grandpa's" bike - well, they have never ridden one, otherwise they would quickly change their mind. I added Torquemaster pipes and got a great sound out of it plus a few more ponnies

Best Features:
Smooth power, great handling, lots of storage
Improvements:
could need about 20 more horses more sexy look more cornering clearance needs a 6th gear needs an electrically adjustable windshield, that should be expected of a touring bike in 2012

They are nice...............and very comfortable !

Don't have to convince me, I'm loving my GL1800 ABS.

Thanks for the review Uwe - you helped me make the decision to go with the Goldwing, and I am so happy I did! Great power and handling, plus comfort for both me, and my wife. I love this bike!!
