Age: Finally growing up...
Netherlands is a small country. Forest, rivers, villages, even windmills, ... more
What to say to introduce myself..... I'm just a guy who likes to be surrounded with people and also can spend hours and hours on my own. I'm born in a little village in the middle of Holland in '67, nowadays there live about 30.000 people. I started doing little jobs age 12 besides school and age 16 I got my first full time job. Finaly decided to get higher education when I was in my early 30ths and went to evening school after I finished my daily work for about four years what seems to be a lifetime instead of only those few years. Few years ago I started my latest study, still busy with it, this time more as a hobby...... but who knows what future brings?!
I'm married, we don't have children from our own, but we have Benjamin and it feels like our own son. We met him for the first time during a holiday in France when he was 12 years old. He lives with a family about 6 km from where we live as he is their foster son. From the moment we met him in France we became a kind of extra foster parents for him as he came twice a week to have dinner with us between school time and sports. School and spots are in the village we live so he didn't have to make those 12 extra km every day on his bike. Every month he spend a whole weekend with us and even now.... he will be 18 next November he still visits us on a regular base and we have great chats, laughs and also serious talks.... let's say..... We still spend good times together!
For a couple of years ago I heard I had a tumor in my pancreas and that made a big change in my life. Not at first, but as time go's by I realized more and more what's important for me in life. For me it's not a new car, a new bike or the most beautiful house. For me it's life, nature, people who are around me, friends, spending quality time..... to live your life and enjoy specially the little things, the unexpected letter or message you get, a friendly smile from someone I even don't know, for example when I'm walking with my dog. I'm still here and alive and when I take my medicine I can "do what I want", although I can't do what I did for a few years ago like all kind of sports as Judo, Kempo, Teak-Won-Do, Soccer..... but there is still enough strenght left to have some good, nice and enjoyable moments every freeking day!
I've my second bike now and I'm only riding bike for about three years now.... still a lot to learn but I'm enjoying every single ride I make!
Wish you all nice and safe rides and lots of fun on this site!
(It's almost 35 years ago I've written English. It's not my natural language. So forgive me a misspelled words or complete weird sentence. Hope you can read it with a smile and a bit of understanding. I'll try to write in my best English!)
