I went back to motorbike riding after not having ridden for well over 20 years. Mid life crisis hit me mid 2010 when I turned 46 and decided to finally get a bike license and my 1st bike at the end ... more
of that year.
Ok so my 1st bike was a scooter which I bought in December 2010. Not just any scooter but a Piaggio Liberty with 200cc of Italian goodness. But by February 2011 I came to the rapid conclusion that while it is fun zipping around on a scooter it just wasn't satisfying my needs. So in March 2011 I picked up my XVS650 and now passionate about getting out and riding in it. I look for any excuse to get out and ride it everyday even if just to the local store - but I go the long way.
My wife and I have been together now for about 23 years and in December of this year we will have been married for 20 of those. We met in Perth which is our home town but in 2003 we had the opportunity to move to Melbourne with my job for a few years. So after Melbourne we then moved to Adelaide and then up to Cairns. Just over 8 years later we are now back in Perth again. We don't have kids but we do have a 4 legged one, "Lucky" who is a Bichon Friese dog - and yes he too has come with us around this country.
I'm a Financial Controller with CPA qualifications but not currently working. Circumstances with my wife's health has meant that my career is currently on hold while I look after her needs. To be honest, I'm not sure I even want to go back to the Corporate world because if there's one thing that I'm learning through our current circumstance is that Life IS Too Short to not enjoy every minute of it.
I was an avid golfer until I got golfer's elbow and haven't played for over a year. I could probably still hit the ball long but with no accuracy hence would spend a lot of time "In The Rough".
Cruising is my new passion and outlet in life. I enjoy taking photos as well and combining the two has given me a new perspective and a renewed passion for life. We all need some form of distraction from the usual grind and this is mine.
If you've come this far thanks for taking the time to read a little bit about me.
